Customers benefit from large-scale operations
Dansk Auto Logik in Vamdrup and Ringsted has experienced a year with a very high activity level. The combination of the rebound in car sales and new customers has resulted overall in a very busy year.
Thanks to this increased activity, the operations run even more efficiently, and despite the increase in oil prices, Dansk Auto Logik has chosen to keep their transport prices unchanged.
In the beginning of the year, the company was challenged by a very severe winter, but otherwise the only opponent has been high oil prices. "Our accounts clearly show how important large-scale operation is to our business. It is of course still our view that all cars must be delivered on time also when it is not possible to make a full load from our compounds," says CEO Kurt Rath.
Timely delivery of cars has always been a focus area for Dansk Auto Logik, and has been a contributory cause for the high influx of new customers in 2011.

Along with the growing level in activities, all employees at Dansk Auto Logik have worked actively to further optimize processes - both at the compounds and on the road. At the compounds a turnaround has literally taken place as terminal employees in Vamdrup have taken over part of the tasks that the drivers previously carried out. The auto-transporters now spend more time on the road where they belong!, says Kurt Rath.

In the transport business, oil prices are a major cost factor over which companies have no real influence. Therefore, the transport industry traditionally operates with fuel surcharge to circumvent this uncertainty. "Our clients want fixed prices, and therefore we do not use fuel adjustment factors. A car salesman who orders a carrier must have confidence that the price does not change month to month. It is only at the end of the year that we have a dialogue with our customers about the price level for the coming year, "states Kurt Rath.

In the past 2 years, oil prices have increased by more than 30%. Alone in 2011 they have increased by 17%.
Due to the current level of activity, and the consequent optimization of operations, Dansk Auto Logik has managed to streamline themselves out of the increasing cost pressures and prices will stay unchanged in 2012. "For this reason we can look our customers in the eyes, and repay them for the loyalty they have shown us, concludes Kurt Rath
